FUTURE CONFERENCE INFORMATION

2008 CONFERENCE. Our Annual Conference will be held from September 17-20 at the beautiful Running Y Ranch Resort in Klamath Falls. The Conference will begin with an informative Academy Session on Wednesday, September 17, and will be followed by two days filled with general and concurrent educational sessions. It will conclude with the Annual Banquet and Installation of Officers on Friday, September 19. New Board members and Committee Chairs will hold a transition meeting on Saturday morning, September 20.

REGISTER EARLY AND SAVE! Return your completed registration form by Friday, August 29 and save $25. Pre-registration helps the Conference Committee coordinate the appropriate number of meals and conference materials. Conference Registration Form

CANCELLATIONS. Conference registration cancellations and meal changes will be accepted until 5:00 pm, August 29. A cancellation fee of $10.00 will be assessed on any changes received by August 29. No refunds will be given after August 29.

REGISTRATION. Registration will be located in the lobby of the Conference Center. Conference Committee members will be available each morning and during breaks to answer your questions or assist with purchasing additional raffle and meal tickets. Conference Registration Form

NAME TAGS. Your registration packet will include a name tag lanyard, which should be worn for all Conference functions. Name tag ribbons indicate new members, Honored Guests, speakers, vendors, Board members, Past Presidents, and Conference Committee members. At the end of the Conference, please leave your name tag at Registration, but the hand-made jeweled necklace, courtesy of the Special Projects/ Fundraising Committee, is yours to keep!

MEALS. Meals are included in the full-conference registration fee. It includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the President’s Reception on Thursday, September 18, and breakfast, lunch, and the Annual Banquet dinner on Friday, September 19. Meal tickets will be included with your name tag; please have them ready at your meal table.

A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided for those attending the Academy session on Wednesday, September 17, as part of the Academy registration fee. Please indicate on the registration form your dietary needs and your banquet entree choice. Guests are welcome to join you for Conference meals. Please select those meals under "Guest Event Registration" on the registration form and include payment.

BREAKS. Conference breaks will be held in the Conference Center. Take these breaks and visit vendors, network with your peers, purchase items from the OAMR Store, and view/bid on auction items.

CONFERENCE ATTIRE AND DANCING. Conference attire will be "business casual." The Friday evening banquet has a Mardi Gras theme, and attire is “in theme” or “semi-formal.” After the banquet, the fun continues with a DJ and dancing!

ELECTRONIC BUSINESS PACKET. The business packet will be available on the OAMR Web site. Please print your packet and bring it to the annual Business Meeting. If you cannot access the packet on-line, please indicate on the registration form that you need a paper packet; one will be mailed to you. A few extra copies of the packet will also be available at the registration table.

OAMR LOGO PINS. You may order a permanent OAMR logo name tag for $10 by completing the appropriate section of the registration form. When ordering your logo pin, please specify if your logo pin should have a name other than the one under which you register for the Conference.

ACADEMY SESSION. We encourage you to register for and attend Scott Q. Marcus' Academy Session entitled, "TALK! Four Steps to Improved Communications." The Academy will be held Wednesday, September 17, from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. A continental breakfast and lunch are included in the $150 registration fee.

MEET AND GREET SOCIAL. All Conference members are invited to attend this casual event shortly after the Annual Academy on Wednesday, September 17, from 4:30 to 6:00 pm in the Outdoor Pavilion at the Running Y Ranch Resort. We will honor new OAMR members and first-time Conference attendees. Mentors are asked to attend with their mentees to help them get acquainted. Light refreshments will be served.

PRESIDENT'S RECEPTION. We will honor President Mary Feldman with a “Murder Mystery Dinner Theater” event on Thursday, September 18, beginning at 6:00 pm in the Conference Center. Dress casually and come prepared for a multi-course Italian meal and a fun evening! Additional tickets to this event will be available for purchase at the registration table.

9TH ANNUAL KATHY ISHIARA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP WALK. The Kathy Walk will be held Friday, September 19 at 3:45 pm. Spend time with your friends on this walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Running Y Ranch Resort. All proceeds from the Walk benefit the Kathy Ishiara Memorial Scholarship Fund. More information regarding Kathy Ishiara, former Medford City Recorder, is available at the Conference Center lobby. The fee is only $25 and you may include your Walk registration on your Conference registration form or register at the Conference up to the last session on Friday. For additional information, call Shirley Kappas, CMC, Klamath Falls at 541-883-5320 or email skappas@ci.klamath-falls.or.us.

SILENT AUCTIONS. All OAMR members are asked to support our scholarship programs by bringing at least one item for the auctions. Auction items will be collected and displayed in the Ponderosa Room of the Conference Center. The first auction will start on Thursday from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm. The second auction will be held on Friday, with items on display throughout the day; however, bids will only be accepted during the "social hour" (6:00 to 7:00 pm) prior to the Banquet. Bid cards will be collected promptly at 7:00 pm, and winners will be announced during the banquet. This is an exciting event, with enthusiastic bidding to the last moment ... You don't want to miss the fun!

RAFFLES. Three raffles will be conducted during the conference, with all proceeds funding education scholarships for our members. All regions will have a basket representing their regions. Ruth Post again donated a beautiful, hand-made king size quilt for the quilt raffle. And then there is the exquisite "HAWAII" trip raffle. Please turn in your ticket sales money, ticket stubs, and any unsold tickets at the registration table. Any available tickets will be sold during the Conference.

VENDORS. Please take time to visit with Conference vendors in the Conference Center foyer. Ask vendors to sign your door prize sheet for entry into a drawing to be held during the Banquet. All vendors are invited to the Thursday luncheon, so please welcome them and tell them you appreciate their support of OAMR.

COMMITTEE SIGN-UP SHEETS. Please consider serving on one of next year's OAMR committees, which form the backbone of our Association. Your assistance and input on committees are greatly valued and appreciated. You may sign up by using the form in the Newsletter or at the Conference registration table.

SATURDAY GOLF. If you are interested in playing a round of golf before heading home, Anna Ruggles, CMC, Forest Grove, is coordinating a 9-hole scramble for you and your guests Saturday morning at 10 am. See flyer for more information or contact Anna at 503-992-3235 or email aruggles@forestgrove-or.gov.

HOUSING. Lodging (Lodge room, townhouse, chalet) reservations can be made directly with Running Y Ranch Resort (888-850-0275). Be sure to include Reference #43K1D1 to receive the Conference room rates. Reservations must be made by Monday, August 18. Lodge check-in time is 5:00 pm, and check out is at 11:00 am or 12:00 pm, depending upon lodging accommodations. If you would like to share a room, please contact Karin Johnson, CMC, Independence at 503-606-4966 or email kjohnson@ci.independence.or.us. Lodging Information Flyer (pdf)

CONFERENCE EVALUATION AND PLANNER FORMS. Take a few minutes and complete these forms to ensure another successful conference next year. The 2009 Conference Committee will take your input and plan a Conference that best meets everyone’s needs. Please leave your evaluation at the registration table as you leave Friday’s last Conference session or mail it to Kathy Louie after the Conference.

THANK YOU! Please thank your 2008 OAMR Conference Committee for their many hours of hard work to support this year's Conference.
